Origin of the seismograph
People think that the first seismograph was created by a man named Zhang Heng. Zhang was born in 78 A.D. in China. This device uses a series of eight bronze balls and a pendulum to
indicate the direction of a earthquake. When an earthquake
occurs, the ball closest to the earthquake’s origin point would drop
into one of the bronze frogs.
